ScheduleandCall:Monday-Friday6:30am-3:30pm.3weekson,oneweekoff.Urgent/emergent cases are performed from 3:00pm - 7:00pm. There are 15 weeknight call shifts per year, one weekend call per month. Call is shared equally and rotated among 4 CRNAs. The CRNA is first call, MD/DO is backup.
Overview:
ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital is a 114-bed rural medical center located in Ahoskie, North Carolina.Roanoke-Chowanservesapproximately40,000patientsperyearand200anestheticsare provided, on average, each month. Roanoke-Chowan has 3 main ORs; cases are mainly bread and butter and include but are not limited to, GS, Ortho, ENT, Ob-Gyn, Eyes, Dental and Healthy Peds. The schedule is shared between two anesthesiologists, in a one week on, one week off format.
Surgical cases start at 0700 and end at 1500. Call begins at 1500. First call is shared with the anesthesiologist.TheORiscoveredbytwoCRNAsandoneanesthesiologisteveryday,Monday through Friday.
The CRNA will be employed by East Carolina Anesthesia Associates, one of the largest anesthesia private practices in North Carolina. The practice is managed and operated by the anesthesiologists that provide services at its various sites across the state. The most beneficial part about this structure is that the incumbent will have significant autonomy, but immediate support when and if needed.OurEasternteamsworkcollaborativelytogethertoensurethatourCRNAsarecomfortably assimilated into their role and within the practice.
Ahoskie is a rural town located in the northeastern part of the state and has that “small town charm”. This town is great for those that want autonomy in their work and love the outdoors. AhoskieisanhourfromRockyMount,Greenville,RoanokeRapids,andjustanhourandahalffrom the Outerbanks and Virginia Beach shorelines.
Job Summary:
The CRNA will conduct patient evaluations, examination and medical histories to develop an anesthetic plan conducive with the patient workup with oversight from the anesthesiologist. The CRNA monitors the patient during each procedure and ensures safe care with optimal outcomes. The CRNA will use various anesthesia techniques, spinals, a-lines, intubations, etc. during a variety ofgeneraloutpatientproceduresandsurgeries,andwilladjusttheplanaccordingly.TheCRNAwill also monitor post-operative care to ensure a safe, quality recovery.
